The maximum allowed "Max CPM" is $100,000 now

Max CPM is a setting used in Cost-Per-Day (Daily Budget) advertising campaigns. It functions as a filter that automatically excludes traffic sources with CPM (cost per thousand impressions) higher than the specified value.

If you don’t set a Max CPM manually, a default limit will be applied. This default works well in most cases and helps protect advertisers from overpaying for traffic.

Why Use Max CPM?

When several large advertisers target the same site, they may unintentionally drive its CPM up. As a result, that site can be excluded from their campaigns due to the Max CPM limit — even if it would otherwise be a good traffic source.

This filter helps balance cost-efficiency and traffic quality.

Is $100,000 Too Much?

Keep in mind: Max CPM is not the price you will pay. It's simply a threshold for filtering out expensive ad units.

If you don’t want to apply any filter based on CPM, you can set it to the maximum allowed value, currently $100,000.

Why so high? Because of how AADS counts impressions:

  • Each IP address can generate only one unique impression per day across the network.
  • If a page has multiple ad units, the first one to load usually gets the unique impression.
  • As a result, the later-loading ad units may appear to have an extremely high CPM, because they get few impressions but still attract high bids.

Some advertisers are willing to pay over $10,000 per 1,000 unique impressions in such cases, so we’ve raised the Max CPM cap to accommodate them.

Why Have a Max CPM Limit at All?

Originally, we imposed a Max CPM limit as a sanity check to prevent misconfigured campaigns. We assumed values over $100 were likely entered by mistake.

However, as demand grew, we’ve seen that some advertisers are intentionally bidding high. So we've gradually increased the Max CPM limit — multiplying it by 10 at each step — to meet their needs without compromising campaign control.

In short:

Max CPM helps you avoid overpriced traffic. But if you want full access to all available sources — regardless of price — simply set it to the maximum.
